Constructive Change possible in society only when teachers are honoured— Dr Roshan Jacob

Lucknow, 1 July : City Montessori School, Lucknow celebrated its Teachers Welcome Function with great enthusiasm and gaiety in the vast auditorium of CMS Kanpur Road Campus here today. Chief Guest Dr Roshan Jacob, Commissioner, Lucknow Division arrived here and lit the lamp of learning to inaugurate this educational festival popularly called “Vidya Ka Parv.” CMS Founders, renowned educationists Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Dr Bharti Gandhi welcomed the most dedicated and dutiful teachers of the institution. The main attraction of the Festival was the honouring of meritorious students and their teacher guardians who had brought name and fame to the school with their path breaking achievements in the academic field, selections in IAS and PCS and other noteworthy competitions. This year seven CMS students have been selected in the IAS of which five were present at the function and they were specially honoured. The seven selected IAS officers are Mannan Agarwal, Anuja Trivedi, Aditya Srivastava, Amit Gupta, Rajat Singh, Sakshi Mohan and Anushri Sachan. Selections in UP PCS include Ankur Gautam, Kaustubh Tripathi, Shubham Verma, Shambhavi Tripathi, and Yuktisha Rajput.

            Addressing the august gathering of over 3000 CMS teachers and staff members, the Chief Guest Ms Roshan Jacob said that it is the teachers who can bring about constructive change in society. Praising the CMS teachers, CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that only when individual character is uplifted and every child develops materially, socially and spiritually, can we bring about development of the society and the nation. Dr (Mrs) Bharti Gandhi said that teachers must be conscious of their immense responsibility as makers of the nation and moulders of the children. A safe and secure future for the child must be ensured. CMS President & MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon opined that Quality in Education is of utmost importance for every child, Also the child must be educated in environmental and social issues so that he or she may grow up to become an agent of profound social transformation and a World Citizen. Earlier, the Head of CMS Quality Assurance and Innovation Department and superior Principal, Mrs Susmita Ghose called upon the teachers to put in their best effort and showed her gratitude towards them for the noble task they were performing.
