Lucknow, October 2: On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and International Day of Non-Violence, over 3000 teachers and staff of City Montessori School took out a grand Ahimsa March, stressing on the need to inculcate the values of truth and ahimsa given by the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The March presented a spectacular picture with the CMS teachers clad in white khadi kurta pyjama and sarees carrying placards displaying the messages of ‘Jai Jagat’ and ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam’. The March which began from Purani Chungi, Kanpur Road and culminated into a huge gathering at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium, was led by CMS Founders and renowned educationists, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Dr. Bharti Gandhi and CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon. Principals of all CMS Campuses and several eminent personalities were present on the occasion. This Ahimsa March proved to be very successful in spreading Bapu’s ideas to the masses. Upon reaching the CMS Kanpur Road auditorium, this huge ‘Ahimsa March’ converted into a grand celebration, wherein CMS teachers and workers very enthusiastically celebrated the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. CMS teachers spread Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts of unity, peace, truthfulness and ahimsa to every nook and corner of the world through bhajans, slogans and placards.
The celebrations at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium were inaugurated by the CMS Founder and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi by lighting the lamp and garlanding the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Addressing the august gathering on this occasion, Dr Gandhi said that Mahatma Gandhi was a boon to mankind. He stressed on the need to impart the education of ahimsa, peace, unity and brotherhood to the students right from their childhood. CMS Founder-Director, Dr Bharti Gandhi said that spiritual education has special importance as it leads to holistic development of students. On this occasion, CMS President and MD, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, gave a presentation on environmental protection. Prof. Kingdon said that it was extremely important today to redefine the relationship between man and environment. The need is to give a gift of neat and clean environment to the coming generations. It is our inter-generational responsibility to leave a clean and green earth for the next generation. Earlier, Head of CMS Quality Assurance and Innovation Department, Ms Susmita Ghose welcomed the distinguished guests and CMS staff members.
