Lucknow, 7 August : Today, on the third day of the 4-day International Festival of History and Civics ‘Reflections-2023’ being organized by City Montessori School, Mahanagar Campus, the participating students from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and various states of India not only spread the messages of friendship and mutual understanding but also revealed various new facets of History, Civics, Legal Studies and Psychology. These participants displayed their talents through various interesting contests viz. Debate, Model Display, Legal Vision, etc. Through these contests, participants from India and abroad proved their worth by showing the path of world unity and world peace to the world society.
Competitions on the 3rd day of Reflections-2023 began with a wonderful Envision (Debate) contest held on the topic, ‘There is no justification for the war on terror’. There were 20 teams for and against the motion, selected for the final round. In this competition, speaking for and against the motion, the participating students presented serious arguments on burning problems like ignorance, religious fanaticism and terrorism and called upon the masses to walk on the path of unity and peace. In the morning session, Sculpting Ideas (Model Display) competition was held for seniors, who made awe-inspiring models on the topic ‘My vision for a better world’ showcasing their creativity and artistic talent. They made amazing models disseminating the message of world unity and world peace that left the onlookers biting their nails. Through these models, the students made the audience aware of the country’s diversity and cultural and social aspects. The main attraction of the day was the Legal Vision competition held in the afternoon session wherein a legal trial was enacted before the audience in a mock courtroom. The participants displayed their knowledge and application of the law on the famous legal case that was given to the two teams to present before the judge. The two sides put forth their arguments for and against the case respectively with relevant sections of the law, pieces of evidence, and witnesses in an atmosphere of real-time court settings, winning the hearts of the audience with their knowledge and arguments.
